Warm and cold coloured mythical creatures

This term Level 3 students were instructed to create a mythical creature. They then had to focus on patterns and how they could use pattern to represent texture. They had to incorporate at least three different textures on their creature. To finish off the painting they learnt about warm and cold colours and how to group them to create different effects. They were so excited about this project and were really proud of themselves when they were done. They look really fantastic!

Recycled large scale tea party food

This year for the Mooroolbark Festival the students entered the recycled sculpture competition. The theme for the festival was 'The Mad Hatters Tea Party' so we decided to make large scale tea party food inspired by the art of Lars Oldenburg. We selected the best three to enter the competition. I am very proud of my students they worked extremely hard on this project and produced some fantastic results.

Complimentary colour collage portraits

These little beauties were made by the Preps to finish off our first term of exploring colour. We will be looking at more aspects of colour next term also. The students learnt about Primary and Secondary colours throughout the term and finished the term off by learning about complimentary colours. They were instructed to choose their two favourite complimentary colours and make a collaged portrait using these two colours only. The results were surprisingly hilarious and fantastic!
